Sickness Policy

At Acorn, we prioritise the health and well-being of our children, families, and team members above all else. If your child is unwell and unable to attend their session, we kindly request that you promptly inform us. You can do so by calling the centre (Newmarket - 09 281 4857 or North Shore - 09 280 4303) or directly emailing your clinician or lead therapist.

To ensure the wellness of our team and other clients your child may not attend their session if:

  • They’ve had vomiting or diarrhoea within the last 24 hours. Your child must be symptom-free for 24 hours before attending the session.

  • They have a fever.

  • They have an undiagnosed rash.

  • They have a contagious illness.

  • Advised by their doctor to remain at home.

If your child becomes sick during their session, you will be called to pick them up early from the centre. If the session is at school or home, the therapist will end the session early.

RED

No session

  • Positive COVID-19 test

  • Temperature above 37.8 degrees

  • Difficulty breathing

  • Continuous cough

  • Contant runny nose with green/yellow colour

  • Eye discharge

  • Swollen glands

  • Persistent itching

  • Undiagnosed rash

  • Diarrhoea within past 24 hours

  • Uncovered wounds

  • Lethargy

ORANGE

Be available within 15min

  • Clear runny nose

  • Covered wounds or sores

  • Minimal lethargy

GREEN

Session can go ahead

  • Minimal runny nose

  • Active and playful
