When should I consider Speech-Language Therapy?
Toddler:
Your child is not babbling using a range of sounds by around 12 months
Your child uses fewer words than expected for their age
Your child has lost words or language skills they previously used
Your child is difficult for others to understand
Your child has difficulty understanding or following simple instructions
School-age:
Your child has difficulty playing with others or forming friendships
Your child has difficulty using full or increasingly complex sentences
Others often find it hard to understand your child
Your child often goes off topic when answering questions or telling a story
Your child has difficulty following multi-step instructions
Your child is reluctant to communicate with peers or less familiar family members
Your child shows signs of stuttering beyond the age of three
Your child is experiencing difficulties with reading, writing, or other written language skills
